There is nothing standard about this particular wall outlet by POWRUI. In fact, we’d go so far as to call it awesome. It’s like the swiss army knife of outlets. The first thing users will notice about this outlet is its size. This outlet functions as a surge protector, automatic nightlight and usb device charging station – so expect a little girth. Next, users will likely appreciate the angled outlets, this makes it so much easier to plug and unplug multiple devices. This outlet also fits directly over an existing standard outlet so installation is a breeze. Last thing to note, the brightness of the nightlight can be adjusted or completely turned off by tapping the sun-like icon at the top of the outlet.
This outlet does have a few downsides. First, this outlet fits over standard outlets, however, users trying to use it over a GFCI outlet may find that the unit fits a little less securely (because the screw used in standard outlet install will not fit in a GFCI outlet). Some users did report quality control issues, particularly when it came to the nightlight. Overall, Amazon users were happily surprised by the quality of this product giving it 4.7 out of 5 stars with 5,800 reviews.
